Property tax, filing an appeal

I have just received the annual notice of assessment for my house.
How difficult/complicated is filing an appeal? Never done it before.
I live in Fulton County, if it makes a difference.

Mine went up from $3200.00 to $4300.00. I heard from a friend to get comps in your area and I have a call to my atty. to find out other ammo. to use.***** those sorry B******S!!!!!

In some jurisdictions they almost automatically knock it down some for long term homeowners who file appeals. Then they true it up after the house is sold.

I filed an appeal , I simply explained that the property had not changed hands or had massive improvements ,. They lowered it back to the previous level.

I think if you find like properity in your area and it has been sold for less then you have some ammo fir your appeal

Was on the news last night how much the assessments went up in Fulton. Sounds like they are ready for a flood of appeals. Get yours in early. It's always good to get in file 13 as soon possible.
