Long story short I would pay $650 in a second if I needed another AR
Correct, mags are plentiful right now. Gives people a false sense of security where they think if things get really bad mag inventory-wise, they can just go out and stock up on mags... If they haven't learned from the recent salad days turning to empty shelves, they're not going to stock up on what's available now. Big mistake. Of course, once could always purchase them when the market has no supply, just be prepared for a reaming.

i'll be honest i'm all for quality and reputability of a company, even if that comes with some tax for the name. I currently run a geissle super duty 14.5. But i also have a psa ar pistol that are priced at 950 now on psa :/ i got for 600ish before covid, and it runs like a champ. would i grab it over my geissle? hell no. but if i needed a rifle in a pinch and its all i have or could afford, id be damn happy i have something.
The only point I am trying to make is that lower priced ARs are perfectly fine for what most people will use them for. They will still kill hogs and will still run through a few mags just having fun on the range. Would you take them to a village in Afghanistan that is heavily pro taliban. Would you take them to a village in Afghanistan that is heavily pro taliban? Hell no. Most people are not looking for something to use in 3-gun matches, they just want one. To claim a PSA, bear creek, or hell even dpms or ati, won't fulfill those simple roles of most owners is kind of ignorant. I hate dpms. Tried to build a good ar10 platform from them but it had extraction issues from the factory...they wouldn't fix it so I had to. Turned out to be a decent gun I sold, but their customer service was trash. Manufacturing issues happen. What matters is will they make it right.
