PSA Dagger? Is it really any good?

We aren’t PSA dealers, but we transfer multiple items of theirs on a daily basis, including many of the Daggers; both frames and complete handguns.

Our most popular selling handgun is the Glock line. In the past 3 years, not a single customer who bought a Glock from us has brought it back with a problem. We have had multiple customers who transferred Daggers through us complain about issues, and several have asked us to assist in shipping their Daggers back to PSA. One of our gun counter employees had to have his Dagger replaced by PSA, as it wouldn’t function straight out of the box.

I’ll admit that the Dagger feels much better in the hand than the Glock (so does a brick), but an ergonomic turd ain’t something I’m gonna bet my life on. Different folks rank their requirements differently, but on my list ergonomics take a distant backseat to reliability.

To paraphrase Ken Hackathorn, “The Glock grip is a form of Stockholm Syndrome. It doesn’t fit anyone, but over the years we’ve just come to accept it.”
This made me cackle

Well, at that point, I might as well just buy the Glock... No sense in buying the cheaper gun, only to throw out the guts and replace with new parts...

It appealed to me, but if its one of those "too good to be true" type affairs, I will pass for now.

Thanks!
But that's his opinion right? Every handgun thread here on ODT basically has that same post of "I see 100s, 1000s of [insert handgun being discussed here] come in and glocks are so much better"

It's not an "opinion". It's the observations of an industry professional with over 30 years of experience testing, evaluating, working on, and teaching folks to use defensive handguns. Military, LE, and civilians, all around the world.

Ask my Mom......she'll give you an "opinion".

I'm not the biggest Glock fan. I carry and recommend them because they work. Moreover, they work more consistently than any other handgun brand they've ever been tested against for military/LE contracts.

I've participated in handgun testing, evaluation, and selection at local and Federal LE levels. Consistently, Glock beats their striker-fired competitors when it comes to reliability. SIG, S&W, FN, etc. Only handgun that I would say would give the Glock some good competition would be the HK VP9, but HK doesn't tend to submit to contracts like the other companies listed.

Glock has many things I don't like. I don't like the grip shape, the lack of a "beavertail", the grip angle, or the polymer magazines. They are ultimately reliable, however, and more than accurate enough for the job they're intended for.

I don't get any kickbacks from Glock, or any other firearms company. If I recommend them, it's because they've impressed me as a professional.

I'd hate to see any ODT member die or get injured because the defensive handgun they chose for the wrong reasons let them down when they needed it. I went the other direction on gen 3 glock clones with a MR920 elite. haven't shot enough to really form an opinion over a typical gucci glock.

The base model MR920 has me very intrigued. It does address 3 of my 4 main complaints about the Glock. We have one in the shop, and I'm very tempted.

I like the grip a lot better than a factory glock. trigger is OK...still a glock trigger. might look at the new glock trigger that glock released....but I don't know if they have a gen 3 version yet. for threaded, lightning cuts and optic cut couldn't beat the price out the door from Bullseye a cpl years ago. they have since dropped a little in price. the RMR cut is very nice.

I don't need lightening cuts, threaded barrel, or colors. Basically, I just want a Gen5 G19 MOS with a better grip.
