That’s not necessarily true. I recommend stuff we don’t carry all the time.

Folks ask what RDS for an AR I recommend. I always tell them the Aimpoint Micro. We don’t carry Aimpoint.

In a certain price range, they ask me what precision rifle scope I recommend. I always tell them Nightforce. We don’t carry Nightforce.

Folks ask for PSA products several times a week. I tell them we don’t carry them, but I don’t try to change their mind to something that we do carry….like Glock. I do tell them that they can order directly from PSA, and we can handle the transfer for them.

Glock’s are fairly inexpensive, as quality handguns go. We make more money per gun on P320’s, HK’s, M&P 2.0’s, FN’s, and more. Despite that, the folks at my shop recommend Glock’s more than any other striker-fired handgun, because we believe in them. The profit margin of an individual firearm is never a consideration.

If a customer states that they don’t like Glock, we don’t try and change their mind. We ask a few questions, and try to recommend something more in line with their criteria.

No one at our shop makes commission. I’ve never tried to sell someone a certain product only because we have it in stock.

Good options for the poors in the same price range

The dealer markup on daggers is way better than Glock. We make more money selling them than Glock all day. Same for Taurus. Glock has one of the least profitable markups there is because the competition is tight and there's a lot of hoops to jump through to be a stocking dealer.

No dealer is motivated by money to sell you Glocks. The ones motivated by money are selling Taurus and other cheaper guns. That's why you see smaller pawnshops peddling that cheap crap, there's more meat on the bone for them.

Now fire back with some of that aggressive peasantry we've all come to know and love.
