"Q" firearms. Quality or marketing hype?

I definitely wouldn't spend that much on a .300 Blackout.

The Howa Mini Action-based Elf Owl Pistol from JTAC Industries would be a good option in that caliber, and cost about half as much.

I have an Elf Owl chassis on a 14.5" P&W 6.5 Grendel, and it's solid.

The Savage 110PCS, Aero Precision SOLUS Short Action Pistol, and Black Collar Arms Pork Sword are 3 more bolt action pistols in .300 Blackout.

The CZ 600 Trail is a great deal for the money, and retails around $1,000, but you'd have to SBR it: https://cz-usa.com/product/cz-600-trail/
Man I really appreciate this info. And agree, never wanted to spend that much. I’ll definitely look into the Elf Owl. I asked for any experience on the Savage here a long time ago and didn’t get any feedback. I’ve never been a Savage fan but would be willing to try at the price point. Pork Sword is cool but also a little pricey.

Sold a lot of their stuff. Felt it was over priced for what it is. You can "build" better for less money and name it like letusbuyyourcar letusbuyyourcar to be cutsie. Rattle can it if you want funky colors.
Hey Q does their own thing. Gucci companies gotta Gucci so I don't know what y'all expect from them . I mean how are they go get guys to pay $3K for an AR if they don't get all fancy wid' it?

People pay more than that for LMT and KAC with questionable QC.
But not a peep from the “for the money” crowd.

I snagged one of their Jumbo Shrimp cans on Silencershop because it was $800 and had a free stamp. Gonna make it my dedicated 6.5 can. But I have heard bad things about their cans and rifles. One guy did a cut of the cans and the baffles were all non-symmetrical, some were offset and it really just didn’t look good. But I’ve had the itch for a while and just figure I’ll scratch it on a cheaper option before all suppressors get bought up Jan 1.

Their rifles, no clue. Never even handled one. I always have preferred custom action 700 footprint rifles over proprietary design bolt rifles though.

My SR15 came brand new with scratches and finish marks where they marred the lower while punching in certain roll pins. I emailed them, and they said that it doesn’t affect function so it doesn’t really get stopped in the QC department. I will say though, I love the rifle.

32+ years ago your suppressor options were pretty-much “build your own” or buy a Dr.Dieter’s GemTech

31 years ago, Kevin B. founded Advanced Armament Co., suppressors and the industry changed immediately and for the better
I have 2 AAC cans. And now a Q coming this week. Love my AAC stuff. Just wish the 51t wasn’t so rough on the locking mechanism. I wanted to send it in to do their Ranger upgrade but at $700 that was the price of a new can…

I’ve never had anything come from KAC that was in perfect condition 🤣. It’s a work piece, it’s not supposed to be pretty, but they are expensive for a reason.
The “just as good” and “for the money” crowd will always crap on something just because of the price point, usually ignoring the reason why it costs what it does in the first place.

I agree. I wasn’t too worried about the scratches because I planned on doing worse to it. I was just curious if they had ongoing issues like that. He offered to swap my lower but I said no thanks!
