Question about stolen Motorcycle

1995 my brand new Honda VFR was stolen in front of my Manhattan apartment. It was u-locked to an iron pole. I went to the PD to report it and the cops started laughing. They said guys drive around in vans, break any lock, put the bike in the van and drive off. They told me it's already loaded in a cargo container getting ready to be shipped to South America.

That's why there's such a hot market (pun intended) in stolen outboard motors and construction equipment.

I remember back in NJ outboard motors were frequently stolen.
