F8 while booting then select safe mode or last known good config option.

Does it allow you to interrupt boot "F8" or go into BIOS? If it allows you to F8, I'd say try and go into Safe Mode and see if it functions. If so, it's most likely a driver issue. Then you can uninstall from device manager and, let Windows reinstall it.

No it does NOT allow going into safe mode via f8 or 'esc' as again, it does not recognize any USB device.

I just made a boot disc from a laptop running Win10, no joy. "Non-System disk...." error.

Retrieve your data and choot it.

I have brought back computers deader than hell with it. Sometimes a few bits get corrupted and very low level stuff can’t be read. Could be that the drive can’t see something and load it.
