Question for PC gurus

It wouldn’t be an update to cause that unless it was a firmware/bios update. Since you can’t access the bios with external input devices, you can pretty much rule out Windows being the culprit. Most Bios for over a decade have had their own drivers to allow usb keyboards, to function pre-boot. As someone mentioned prior, it sounds like your usb controller ghosted.

This is probably the right answer.
 
Update: Dropped it off at the Microsoft Store where they are going to pull the data, reinstall Windows, and then move data back, for free. 2-3 days. The guy wasn't real optimistic that it would work though. Hope so, if not, oh well, hopefully I can just get my data.
I had to actually make an appointment with them, to fix a problem they caused.:confused: I guess now I know a little more what it's like to be an Apple customer. :lol:
