My brother broke his left hand and left humorous season before last. He bought a Ruger Blackhawk in 41 mag and topped it with a fixed power scope. He shot 4 does, from 40 to 60 yards and everyone dropped within 15 yards of where it was shot. I think he was shooting a 260 grain buffalo bullet.

I will be using Winchester XP, 125 grain. Should be plenty for whitetail. I hunted with a 25-06 for years, 100 gr. bullet and never lost one. Shot placement is important. 41 Mag is a great caliber. I will probably keep my range 50-75 unless I get really proficient with it.
