Questions for those mechanically inclined!

Have to have 3 things to start an engine: Fuel, spark and oxygen. Easiest to start with is fuel. Open the gas lid and listen while she turns the key to the on position but not start. Should be able to hear the fuel pump kick on. Some vehicles have internal pumps, external pumps or both (booster). No sound then check relay or fuse for fuel pump. If that's all good then next would be electrical starting with battery, starter, ignition, fuses and relays.
