Whew! Just got back from the local range... an interesting trip to say the least. Guy had a misfire and went to cycle the slide and the gun went off, and apparently he somehow had his hand in front of the muzzle, so it went into his left thumb and index finger. :faint2: I was somewhat in shock seeing it, but I called 911 as the man wished and thankfully the range staff came out and helped him get his hand wrapped up until EMS arrived. I'm just glad the gun was pointed down range and not my way....:eek2:

That's exactly why there is a rule that weapons are to face downrange at all times. Accidental discharges can and do happen.

Hate to hear that someone was injured...but for the life of me I am trying to imagine how he was holding the gun so that his thumb and index finger were in that area...guess that's academic now.

Advanced Bullets in Temple. I think he said it was a larson? .380 though. I've never heard of them. I don't quite see how he could have had his hand in front of the muzzle either... but that's what it looked like. He seemed fine but I wouldn't be surprised if he loses the thumb... but who knows with today's medicine.

damn glad nobody else was hurt. Arent lorcin along the same family tree as Jennings?

I had my jennings 22 slam fire upon racking the slide and put a round in my steal toe boot.. gun got sold immediately.
