Range Incident

Anybody who buys a Lorcin oughtta be sho...er never mind. bad taste?

I bet the owners of the range are wondering if the guy is going to try and sue them somehow.

07JKX- I wasn't tryin to be offensive I was just making a point. Had the gun been down range when you worked the action, you wouldn't have shot yourself in the foot. My buddies old sks slamfired once and kept going till the mag was empty, that was a pucker moment.

understood... this was at home though so i typically point it at the ground in front of me... chamber a round and then holster the weapon before I head out for the day. If I were pointing straight ahead... it would have destroyed a 65" TV... which would have been worse than losing a toe. lol

the main thing I learned in that event... was not to buy cheap crappy guns and keep buying steal toed boots

I shoot at Advanced Bullets. The guy that runs it is a nice fellow. hate that this happened....however I am more happy that you didn't catch a .380 slug because they have been known to be very bad for your health.

They do.

I wish I had my own place to shoot... maybe someday. The indoor range is a cool idea, are you designing it yourself? Where are you finding info on it?

Building it myself (with help from some buddies in the construction business).....nothing fancy from an aesthetic point of view but building to exceed minimum safety requirements..........Using the NRA Range Sourcebook and input from several commercial range operators.

its a outdoor range.. and what do you mean with people you dont know? you cant controll who comes in a place like that..

I control it by not going. Are you serious? A few visits to ranges with stories like these, guys shooting guns that they have no clue how it chambers, fires, no clue how to handle FTF's, holding glock's sideways(yes....happened at everyones beloved Bullseye in L'vill).

Thats how I "control" it.

IMO...that question is very dumb....but maybe I am cranky today

It's always pleasant to shoot there when I've been. Most of the guys I've seen there are very nice and seem to be very safe as well. The guy with the AD was also nice but it was his first time there. The owners didn't even charge him for his range time!

Not making any specific personal attacks. I am sure there are responsible people that visit ranges....or they would not be open, right?

Its just a personal preference. I avoid situations where I don't feel me or my family are safe.
