I agree with Klark on this...I used to shoot up on the mountain at my family's property...when all the carpet baggers started moving in and building cabins around I went to public ranges 3 times...once with my young sons....NEVER AGAIN!!!

Collin, are you sure the bullet hit his hand? Or did the slide cut him when the gun went off? If he was wracking the slide from the rear, using this two fingers, the injury is understandable. On the other hand, it's hard to imagine how the bullet could hit those two fingers while trying to manually cycle the slide, even from the front of the slide.
Think about someone racking the slide using the front serrations by reaching over with their left hand. Thumb on the left side, index finger on the right. If its a small gun there wouldnt be a lot of room up there, I could easily see how someone could end up with their fingers in front of the muzzle after releasing the slide.
The index finger looked like it was hit by the blast and not the bullet, I'm pretty sure that just hit the thumb area. Only that guy could really explain what happened I guess!
