Rant: OBO + No Lowballers... Thin Skin

Its called ... Price is Firm.

Just price it what you want, say its firm, and then stand on it.

if its OBO, that means you'll negotiate. if you put no lowballers, that means you dont want to negotiate.

if you have a little wiggle room, then post up Firm and then do a price drop to a new Firm price if it doesnt move.


Ive looked at a number of guns over retail with no lowballers listed, but OBO listed.

I don't get it. You're welcome to sell for whatever you want, but you want offers below asking but insult people before you're even started by calling them names. Just counter offer. Quit being so thin skinned about it, It doesnt cost you anything to reply with a higher #.

and if your skin is too thin, list it as FIRM.

i always put a little wiggle room in all my adds unless price is firm. Lowball offers dont bother me i just dont reply.

My take has been
Firm=firm (well maybe it wouldn't hurt to ask if there is wiggle room)
obo=offer away
obo w/ no low ball = make me an offer but if your low balling don't expect a reply

I get the no low balling as I've been insulted with some of my adds but I tend to just ignore. The exception is if the guys a dick and goes on about how worthless my stuff is but yet they still want to buy it, I reply back with a higher than my asking price.

This is one of the better rants I have read, and I agree completely. They should just ease up with the thin skin and learn how to negotiate. Or just price it FIRM.

I was trying to be cool with people and send a polite tell "Hey, this LGS has that same gun new for $20 less than you are selling your used"

After the spews of nasty insults and idiotic responses... I just started ignoring em.


I do not want your butt-sweat permiated holster, your cousins reloads or the "Custom" chinese stick-ons and they do not 'add value'.
