Recreational Pot; has your view changed?

Do you think marijuana should be decriminalized and taxed as a commodity?

1: The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;

That says they have the authority time tax It, where do they have the authority to regulate/criminalize it?

Dude y'all are much more libertarian than I remember! I love you guys. It seems like were either all for legalize and tax it to mixed feelings. Maybe the dissenters will login today and kick our hippy asses.. this is great discussion though.

I would love for them to legalize it. But being in the Military I wonder how it would apply there.

I would love to blaze up from time to time. I believe pot is just as deadly as alcohol. Its all how you use it and how responsible you are with it.

Plus it make all these douchebags who smoke now realize they aren't so "cool" and "thug"

I'm not a hippy but I do have somewhat of a Libertarian view on a lot of subjects. To me pot is not like any other drug or even liquor. By that I mean it's probably the only drug that doesn't require combining chemicals or refining it. It's a plant. On top of that it's a pretty hearty plant that grows like Dandelions in other parts of the world. For a plant to be illegal to me is assinine. Especially when we now know all the helpful properties of said plant.
I haven't smoked any since the early 90s. I just don't like to smoke anything. Plus I believe that a smoking it on a regular basis would subject you to carcinogenic effects that would outweigh any benefits of the plant. But if it was suddenly legal in Georgia I'd certainly be up for some of them edible products. Special Brownies all around! Yeah come on!

I think the only reason they haven't made it legal is because they can't find a way to regulate it well. I have mixed opinions on it. I think that the few ruin it for the many as usual. I think what you do at our own home is your own business. If you are able to do it and not endanger me or my family I don't care.
