REI outdoors boycotts Vista

REI, the camping and outdoors supply company, is appanently run by tofu-ruminating metrosexuals who are now boycotting any supplier of camping gear who wont pledge to lobby for more gun cintrol laws and stop selling "modern sporting rifles" -- meaning the any semi-auto centerfire rifles thst use detachable box magazines, I think.

Savage Arms has recently begun selling AR pattern rifles, so R.E.I. will boycott any products from any company that is owned by the same conglomerate as Savage.

(p.s. I'm surprised those politically correct fairies have not long ago decided to boycott anybody affiliated with Savage Arms, because of the name "Savage" and its negative connotation upon Native Americans of indigenous heritage .)

Hard for me to boycott all these companies because I never bough from them in the first place. I enjoy reading about you guys doing it though!

I registered my complaint. As a businessman, repeatedly watching large businesses making knee-jerk reactions to various social issues, only to have to immediately back-peddle when they take heat for it, is getting very old very quickly. It's not good for business or social policy.

Huge fan of Savage. Have spent thousands at REI over alot of years. I will continue to buy Savage.I'll get my camping gear elsewhere. Still love the Chief Lame Deer logo that Arthur Savage negotiated to honor a native American tribe.

So Andrew A. ("A" for anonymous, or maybe just a robotic reply based on a defective algorithm) just sent me a link back to the article I complained about. Management will never know about its unhappy members, which is itself a management failure.
