Reloading aluminum cases?

The aluminum cases that I've had problems with were 38 special Blazers . I was shooting my wife's Lady Smith and a .357 Taurus. I shot the Taurus first and I had one round spit a small piece of lead back and hit me in the face. It felt like a sting, I switched to the Lady Smith and after about 10 rounds it happened again. Because it was two different guns and the same box of 38 shells, I attributed it to the aluminum cases.

Not a gunsmith nor much of a revolver shooter but I believe I would look at pistols timing, bad forcing cone or oversized projectile as possible causes for this.
I have never bought any aluminum case ammo but have shot a bit of it that friends/family had and never a problem with it, actually can't remember having any problems from steel cased ammo either, but again I haven't shot much of it either.
