I have a Remington 700 SPRG 30.06 I am trying to date. The lettering on the left side of the barrel read wen. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The W indicates the month of manufacture.
Rem uses the code B L A C K P O W D E R X for the 12 months, W is August. I don't have the chart for years, and it varies somewhat between models and rifles and shotguns.
Most Rem is done with 2 letter codes, first letter is month, second is year, but there is overlap and gaps and skips and double letters. There are resources on the net for this info with Rem owners groups, etc.
