Remington Model 7 comparables.

So I am wanting a shorter and lighter rifle for deer hunting. I really like the model 7 but I am wanting to look at all of my options before I jump on a model 7. What other rifles should I look at. I am not wanting to go the custom route. I am also not brand loyalty. Thanks for the help guys.

People either seem to love or hate Mannlicher style rifles. I love 'em.

With that said. You can't go wrong with a model 7....

The best/lightest hunting rifle I've used for Georgia, compact, tack driver and well built is a Winchester feather weight in 3006. I believe mine is from the early 80's and I have found nothing better to carry in the woods. Quality all the way.
