Removing this tree to make room for another tree...

Can i get away with throwing a chain around this and driving my truck to pull it out of the ground? The tree is ugly and takes up a lot of space. I'd like to replace it with something that my daughter will be able to climb as she grows.
Or am I better off just to cut it down, level it with the ground, and planting another tree somewhere nearby? Thanks

I tore up the front end of a 4x4 pulling backwards on a bush one time. If you do it use your hitch for sure. And dig it out first. Then just pull it over so you can get an ax to the tap root down a foot or two..
