Revolver for mom

The Walther CCP has a very easy slide to work. It's a fixed barrel, gas delayed blowback (which apparently helps with recoil). Give that a shot.

I was in the same dilemma earlier this year with my mom and "loaned" her and my dad my Ruger SR22. It fits nicely in her hand, easy to work the slide and she loves shooting it. Not too big and not too small. Sure the .22lr isn't ideal for self defense but put 6-8 holes in a man and he'll rethink things.

Best of luck.

A set of lighter springs in a S&W 31 is what you seek. An 8 pound hammer spring an a 13 pound rebound spring is all you need. Those 32s are good little guns in an easy to handle caliber.
