I just cut my rifle in a Cabela’s case and drove 11 hrs with it sitting upright. When I opened it up I had serious rub marks on various places. Anyone ever had a case rub off the coating on their scope or rifle? Any tips on what’s going on?

If you used a hot wire to cut the foam, that could be melted foam residue on the scope and rifle. It should clean off. Need to check and see if your foam edges are stiff.

I usually use a patch with gun oil on it, rub it in good and wipe it off. If it requires more, I'll wipe it down with gun solvent and then gun oil.
