Rock Island Armory have introduced a new pistol, the RIA 5.0. The new RIA 5.0 is a 9x19mm with some very interesting features.

I'm intrigued....not a huge fan of proprietary anything but I just watched a few videos and with the lower bore axis and linear locking lug it seems like a good combination to make it flat shooting, pushing the recoil straight back as opposed to trying to compensate for muzzle rise.
Two versions coming to market, one with irons only

and one with red dot only - not even a front sight.

Discuss....I'm interested to know what the seasoned hand gunners think. Personally I'd love to see it in 10mm

I agree. A square barrel is kind of wild.

WANT!!!! I like the new Taurus TX22 compact too. Gotta have that 5.0 when the cost get’s down to about $600.

I'll be in line. Sootch00 just did a review. Just looks like a great performing 9mm rig. Leave it up to RIA to innovate...of all manufacturers.

I'll stick with my tried and true Gen. 2 Glock 21.

Same weight as a 1911 @ 39 oz, so should be manageable to carry if a good holster company makes something for it.

Be interesting if they come out with a lighter version for concealed carry.

The only thing I can think of being an issue is all that barrel and slide surface contact? Then again, a little slime or grease may keep it running a long time? The holster issue may be solved?? … I heard one of the guys in a video say CZ75 open bottom holsters would work but idk?
