In my school, I see more problems with the Leupold Mark4 than with all other brands put together. I haven't recommended Leupold in a "tactical" application in over a decade.
1. I want to take all your courses when I get a lot of free time
2. What kind of problems do you see with the mark 4s ? I was considering one but the mil/mil m5 dials with ffp went pretty sky high in price compared to vortex and similar.
3. Have you ever messed around with swfa?

1. Come on! Always happy to have a Devil Dog in my classes!

2. The most common issues I see with the Leupold Mark4's are:
-failure to hold zero
-failure to return to zero
-adjustments that don't measure close to what they're supposed to
-parallax issues
-just won't shoot a group. Slap another scope on the rifle and she shoots. Mount the Leupold and groups go to crap.
-I've seen a couple of the FFP models where at least one set of lenses in the optic "delaminated"
-I've seen several with stripped out elevation adjustments, but I can't say for certain this was not caused by improper use

3. The SWFA fixed power scopes are great scopes for the money. I T&E'ed 2 of the variable SWFA's and they are excellent, but I feel they're a bit overpriced.

My 5-20 swfa has been a tank for 4 years. No issues at all. Only downside is a very boring reticle with zero options besides illum or non. If you want to drop $1k it's not a bad scope. Just remember the gen 1 razors and bushy dmr are around the same price and generally have more features or options.

Thank you all for your advice! I ended up going with the Viper PST 6-24x50 FFP EBR-2C. Mounted it in Vortex Precision Mount Rings. Im loving the scope and whole setup! Very happy with my choice and yall def helped persuade me. My Avatar is a picture of my RPR with Viper mounted on it.
