Ruger precision rifle - Do I really want one?

I had a m77 grouping about a 1.5 at 100 yards and wasn't happy about it and called ruger. The rep said even for that with no optic it should group 1.5 at 50 yards.

To be fair, 1.5 MOA at 50 is still 1.5 MOA at 100.

I love the older M77's, especially the older untra lights. Great hunting rifle, although I have never tried to get groups of them.

Mine is a 7mm and I'm taking it next pay check to get the stock glass bedded.
 
I have played with gen 1 and like it. I'm used to an ar 15 and the feel is much the same. I think I could get used to hunting with one. But more likely would use it for long range play more than anything.
 
If you look at my post selling my gen 1 RPR 308 you will see a 5 shot group at 100 yards,that a quarter will cover,I can hunt with that
