ruger ranch rifle spent round stuck in chamber

I have a spent case in the firearm. The safety will not engage to remove the trigger housing in order for me to take it apart. Any ideas?

Um, stuck, like the bolt wont open? If you can get the bolt open, use a cleaning rod.

correct, I will try that.

Yeah, be sure it's unloaded and that you are positive it's a spent case. Sometimes they can get knocked out easy, and sometimes require a more firm persuasion.
