Russian sks build

I built 2 SKS rifles in two totaly differant directons. The first is a 1980's SKS built and imported for U.S. sales so it has no historical value. I stripped the gun down and added a Tapco T6 stock with Tapco 20 round removeable magazines. Then I had Ott gun works drill and tap the reciever for a Choate scope mount. This is the only scope mount for an SKS that is 100% reliable for not shifting under recoil. Even the file fitted dust covers will move. Then I added a pin on muzzle break, bipod and vertical grip. I have removed the bipod and vertical grip because I found them to take away from the gun by making it to heavy. My future plan for this gun is to remove the pin on muzzle break and add a threaded muzzle break. I will also convert it to accept AK magazines.

The second is a SKS I purchased on ODT that after I bought it I realized the barrel had been cut down. So I figured that since this one was already modified in a way that it can't be undone I will take it a step further. I had Ott gun works recut the barrel because it was not cut strait by the previous owner and had him add a recessed 11 degree target crown. The barrel is now 17.5" long so its not realy as short as it looks in the pics. I installed the SKS int a SGWorks bull pup kit. I added a 250 lumen led light/laser combo, vertical grip, halo sight and Tapco 20 round removeable magazines. My future plans include removing the halo sight and replace it with a CQC 1-4x24 scope with back up iron sights and add a single point sling.

Here they are next to each other so you can get a better idea of how short the bull pup is. Again the bull pup barrel is 17.5" so it is still capable of accurate long range shooting.
