Seemed like a pretty good deal so I thought I'd share....

Stopped by Cherokee Gun and Pawn in Canton today and they are selling a brand new S&W AR15 .223/5.56 WITH Iron Sights for only $649. That's only $50 more than their DPMS, which has a 1x9 twist (S&W has 1x8) and NO sights...

If my pending AR deal falls through with a fellow ODT member, I will be picking one up...

What difference is the 1to8 twist going to make on the trajectory?

Not going to affect trajectory, but the stability of the bullet. 1/9 twist is good for 55gr bullets, and can work with 60-70 gr bullets alright, but in my experience 1/9 is best for slightly lighter bullets and the heavier stuff will disperse a little more then the 55gr stuff. The 1/7 is good for heavier bullets, 62gr or more and is popular for guys running 70gr+ loads. The 1/8 is what a lot of people see as a happy medium and allows everything form 55gr-77gr to be used with good affect, though it does still seem partial to the heavier bullets.
