Today my pop (grandfather) passed away. He was 96 years old. He had been on hospice for a while, today he passed away at his assisted living home while sitting by the window looking outside. He was truly the example of how a man should live. He was a world war two vet, 71 year master mason, raised two boys and a girl, loved my grandmother like crazy, he was a watch maker for many years but most importantly he was a God fearing and loving husband, father, and great grandfather. But now I know he's no longer in pain and reunited with my grandmother.

He was part of the greatest generation, sorry for your loss.
thank you. This evening has been rough, don't really know how to feel. Angry, sad, upset all rolled into one. I haven't had to experience a close family death in my adult life. But I know he's "him" again. Week before last he didn't even know me and yesterday he didn't know my dad. I just hate him being gone.

Its so rare nowadays to see this kind of thing. I dont know you from a hole in the wall nor did I know your grandfather. All I see is love, class, and true grit.
