Condolences and 🙏🙏It's with great sadness that Susan and I announce we said goodbye to our sweet Princess Grace yesterday afternoon. Many of you had met Grace at meets or the ODT gun shows. Grace was almost ten and suffered from epileptic seizures since she was four. Other recent medical issues were taking their toll and it was time to end her pain. She was our fifth Golden Retriever; we've been down this road before. It's never an easy decision.
We got Grace on Armed Forces Day 2016 to begin service dog training and replace my existing psychiatric service animal, Scout (who many of ya'll met). She was a natural from the start. Except for riding my motorcycle or going to the gun range, she has been my constant companion. Local restaurants and stores knew her by name and treated her like royalty. We took extended trips to Hilton Head, Pigeon Forge, Mobile, Ellijay, and Little Rock. She slept by my side every night until Susan came to bed. She went everywhere with me; always the anchor and lifeline to a better quality of life.
We loved her with all our hearts. Her loss leaves an emptiness only wonderful memories can fill. We love you Grace and will never forget the difference you made in our lives.
