That's kinda my question.....if I can't get more for it here than a pawn shop then what's the point of doing the work here. A pawn shop transaction is quick if I'm going to walk away with the same cash.
Let me know what the pawn shop will give for it. I’m not really in the market for a Sig P239 at the moment but at the price a pawn shop would give, I could part with some cash and throw it in the safe.

The counterargument is that someone within the community got a gun cheaper than if they had bought the same gun via a pawn shop.

You however, got the same amount of money.

Of course, that's the trick to right-pricing the gun - you get a bit more for the gun than you would have got from a pawn shop, the buyer gets it for a bit (or a lot less) than they would have paid at the pawn shop, and the community is enriched by two people trading voluntarily and no 4473's have been filled out.
Plus no tax

The point of the thread was to see if this community actually is a place to sell. It turns out that it was helpful.

We have learned that this is a just another Facebook marketplace experience and the seller might make $25 over what a pawn shop will give. So bottom line is, does a seller want to go through a bunch of hoops and meet some sketchy people just to make an extra $25?
Page 6 and you had me till now This is not Facebook marketplace. I see 1 gun listed by you at panic buy price. I hate to tell you but it is worth half of that.

If you think you are on Facebook, post a picture of a 100 year old gun that was your grandfathers and within minutes you would know what it is and what it is worth. You might note the dates of when members joined. Most have been doing this for a while and have seen the ebbs and flows of the market. You are new but I dont believe you have a grip on the knowledge here. Your right this is not Facebook or Next-door Guns.

There are still deals on here and I as one take advantage of them. I shoot them and if I like them I keep it and if I don't I sell it for what I paid for it. If you are here to sail at 2-3year old panic prices you are not in the right place go back to Facebook.

Can't say for certain, but it sure seems like someone could have a new job at one of the 30+ pawn shops in the Columbus area.
