I am searching for the right 9mm can to put on my M&P full size. With help from an ODTr I got me a Storm Lake threaded barrel and what I was wondering is the stock spring gonna be fine with the can on it or should I look for a recoil spring for the slide? Thanks for any and all comments to the newbie.

Yes recoil spring. Should I change this out when using a can or does it matter.

You should be fine. Only time you might need to tweak recoil springs is if you're reloading and doing some undercharging trying to keep a bullet subsonic but use factory 147 or 158 ammo or just load to normal spec and you'll be OK.

Ok thanks Lazarus Lazarus for being kind to my ignorance ha. Are there 124gr in subs or only 147gr. Just like 124gr better.

Yea Federal's American Eagle Suppressor ammo is a 124gr load but from what I've heard its not that good. You might be better getting some traditional 147gr but the AE suppressor seems to be abundant lately.

I had back luck with the 124gr as well. The only problems I have ever had out of my beretta suppressed was with their 124gr. The federal 147gr flat tip is solid. Love that stuff. Along with PPU 158 and Fiocchi 158gr.

With factory loads you should not have to change your recoil spring.
