Well I can go online now, but that may not be an option during an event. I would like a book as a reference just in case it goes all old school.

I like ebooks on my Kindle as much as the next person, but yeah paper books can't get fried by an EMP.

Boy Scout handbook. Seriously. Lot of good stuff in it.

borrow such books from your local college library and use their scanner, or your smart phone, to record the info that's pertinent to you. Transfer that info to a kindle reader and have a solar charger for it. No internet will be needed and you'll be the most valued man in the US, as long as everyone thinks, that info is in your brain only. the minute that they find out that they can steal the info, you will be killed.

It's not bad and is fairly easy to pack in my bag. Some sections don't apply to our area. I guess those sections can be used as tinder or TP.
