Savage rimfires••••••what’s your favorite

I think it was the Mark II GL I tried two of before giving up on those stamped sheet metal contraptions. You know they make real bolt actions for rimfire, right?

Some people, inexplicably, really like them, though. Enjoy!
Yes, I'm aware of the others. I have Marlin, Ruger, Remington, Bergara. Just never had any Savage, so I thought about giving them a try as a suppressor host.

One of these?

Need one to chop down for a dedicated CCI Quiet
Yard gun project.

My Savage .17hmr drops crows like lawn darts. I have two issues with it though. First is the mag spits the rounds out for some reason so I manually load each round. Second is misfiring. I have no idea why but the only constant firing round I found is the CCi. I have it since new and keep it clean. My d-bag brother prolly got his hands on it and like everything else he used of mine, it always comes back broken or in-op. True story.
squeeze top of the mag just a bit

I just purchased a Model 93 Mark ll in 22 mag. It has a wood stock, free floated bull barrel and a 4lb. trigger out of the box. I needed a bolt gun for snake shot because it won't cycle through my auto loader. However that's no reason no to improve it by all means available. I am pouring the Tru Oil to the stock now. I am going to pillar bed the action and replace the trigger with a adjustable job. As soon as I am done with the Tru Oil I am going to test fire it and check accuracy. If it needs some help then I will pillar bed it and upgrade the trigger. I paid 233 for mine Monday. I put a vintage Redfield Fulfield 2-7 scope on it. The scope is a tank and very clear. It has been well preserved and was the perfect scope for this gun. You can really see how a little sanding and some Tru Oil is really improving the stock aesthetics. That blah satin stain over birtch is not exactly beautiful but she will look good after I am through with it.

I’ve never had a Savage, so why not start with three 93's. .22lr, .22 WMR, .17 HMR

Any tips on ammo they like best?

22 mags do a lot better with 40 grain or heavier pills. The lighter stuff is a bit to wild unless you have a dynamic barrel. My bull barrel should do well with 40 gr. Hornady or CCI ammo. Winchester and Armscor is OK but standard velocity rounds in the 4O grain weight tend to shoot better. On a 22 mag the heavier rounds do anyway. 22 LR Ely match ammo does real good again standard velocity for accuracy.
