Whats the deal with people listing them for sale here $500 over retail?

Not sure, bought mine NIB in 15 and saw a couple here within the past two weeks that were more than what I paid

Seemed like at the end of 15 they were running a sale on them for around $2400 when I bought

Haven't seen that price since then, that was what made me buy that day. Went in looking for 22 LR ammo and walked out dazed and confused with a SCAR17

KY GUN CO had a few in stock if I recall

$2499 for a 16s, which isn't terrible. $3043 for a 17s.

I paid 29 and change for mine total. Was a task to find it for under retail.

I'll consider one when the street price is under $1800, but IMHO they are way over valued right now.

I fully beleive FN limits the production to keep prices up even during the best of times for gun owners.

I had a student show up for one of my 2-day Basic Precision Rifle Courses with a stock SCAR-17 (except for the Geissele trigger) topped with a Vortex Viper PST 4-16x.

Once we got his ammo issues sorted out, he was easily ringing steel at 1,000yds with it. I was impressed.
