Thanks all. I'm pretty lazy when it comes to cleaning I want to get the residual oil off so I can spot any real leaks.

Stupid modern engine's all covered in plastic and full of wires. Pain in the butt.

Also, WD40 is a GREAT degreaser! But after using WD40 you need to use a soap product to clean off the WD40.

Yep

I’ve used it for years to clean my hands after working on a car

Also the best thing to get rid of gasoline or other chemical odor is mustard
just rub it all over your hands and arms
Then wash off
Then you gotta use dish soap or something to get rid of the mustard smell

Better to smell like a hot dog than gasoline

Mean Green, Purple Power, or similar. You need to put plastic bags on elect stuff, like the alternator.

This always worked for me, along with a standard self-service car wash pressure wash, with only occasionally using the super pressure trigger. I never covered the alternator, and I never had a problem.
