I need help.....I want to get a good scope for my m1a, but am not sure which one. I was in a academy sports going through all of the scopes and seem to be stuck on leopolds so far. The glass was just so clear and crisp. They didn't have a huge selection so I wanted to ask everyones opinion. I started to look online and see some are illuminated, etc. I have been looking at the mark 4 lr/t, but have heard of vortex and other models. What do you guys think? I want something for 5-1k yards. I like my Leupolds but also have a Vortex to me its what is the clearest and sharpest for your eye if you wear glasses like I do
Try a Vortex Viper 6x24 50mm FFP (I prefer MOA but it's offered in MilRad too). Clear and precise, reticule etched on the lens, illuminated with "off" stops between brightness levels and I can't say enough about how easy it is to range estimate using the First Focal Plane reticule. About $800 to $850 street price.
invest in a good mount do not buy the aluminum , steel are the best
I'm not normally one for either a.) a shortened M1A SOCOM anything or b.) any type of scope on an M1A but I have to admit.....that just looks baddazzed!
Leupold Mark IV or its commercial equivalent in 3X9 w/ turret rings is hard to beat and the warranty is lifetime.
