Here's my Norinco

I have the same set up with a PSA GF3

My cousin put a traditional 3x-9x deer rifle scope on his Norinco (or was it Polytech?) AK, actually a MAK-90, some 20 years ago. The mount was a side-mount on the left side of the receiver that a gunsmith installed for him.

We found that the rifle was only capable of about 5-6 MOA accuracy, and that's after testing a few different brands of ammo at 100 yards. He was hoping to use this rifle for deer hunting, with SP commercial hunting bullets, at distances of 100 yards or less. Same distances he'd been hunting for years with a slug shotgun that had a red dot optic and also gave about 6 MOA performance. He wanted the AK for the lower recoil than his 12-gauge slug gun put on his shoulder.

For me, I'd put a wide-body red dot optic on the AK. No magnification. And I'd want the dot itself to have about 6 MOA. It's not for precise shooting; I'd want it to give moderate precision but FAST sight acquisition, and quick follow-up shots bringing the gun out of the recoil and muzzle rise.
