One more thing…
If you can fit it into your schedule, a trip over to Jekyll Island for a sunset dinner at The Wharf is worthwhile.

lostchild lostchild we did want to visit Jekyll if we can, what's a good way to do that? Like is there a known ferry or whatever to get there.

I like what I've seen about Coastal Ga so far and spent years on the Florida coast. Trying to maybe eventually talk the family into moving there if work permits it.

Causeway to Jekyll, $10/car for a day pass. State owned/run island.
About 10 miles from SSI (2 separate causeways, SSI back to Hwy 17, from Hwy 17 to Jekyll.)

Doubling up here -
Southern Soul for BBQ. I aways go for lunch and get the Weekday Worker which is a lunch special $8-9 for large sandwich, fries and drink. If you stay close by order on the phone and pickup. My adult kids like the bar. The Friday prime rib is to die for.

Frosty's for lunch. Double cheeseburger with fries and drink special

Porch for nashville style hot chicken. It made Diners, Drive-ins and Dives

If you like homestyle buffet with the best fried chicken in the area try Nicks. Lunch only

Jekyll is home to Driftwood beach which has been the location used in multiple shows including Stranger Things

Back to restaurants..In the village, Iguana’s has been a favorite with us and our visitors.
Doesn’t look like much, in or out, but we think they’ve got the best fried shrimp on the island.
Good blackened dishes and onion rings also, large servings.
Kids (well, everyone that’s not lactose intolerant) will love the complimentary soft serve ice cream bar. Vanilla, chocolate, swirl. Chocolate syrup and lots of different sprinkles.
Mom and dad will enjoy the full service bar.
All at reasonable prices for a resort restaurant.
The ones most of our return visitors want to hit first are (in no particular order):
Iguana’s
Half Shell
Barbara Jean’s
Georgia Sea Grill
Delaney’s
