Security will kill their employees

In all the above, the references to money should be changed to fiat-USD or some other fiat "currency" which has no inherent or otherwise intrinsic value.

Note that anyone who has the forward thinking and volition to turn some of his fiat currency into real money, gold and silver for example, will already have solved or mitigated the food/water/security, etc aspects....and is probably already in south america or some other country with minimal government reach. However, there is no government on this planer that is anything more than a criminal gang.

If someone has gold and has to trade it for water, he probably stole it.

Way back when I was doing contract work I had the luxury of picking who I worked for. There where 3 groups of people that I absolutely refused to work with. The first were doctors ( they don't think anyone's time is valuable other than theirs) the second was airline pilots ( they absolutely think they know everything, I know that confidence is important to a pilot but come on...)
And the last and this is written in granite are lawyers, they always and I do mean always try to cheat you.
Lowest form of life on earth, there's a reason so many politicians are lawyers.
A character from William Shakespeare's play Henry VI, Part 2, Act IV, Scene 2 had a novel idea: "The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers"

What is called “justice” here in America today is achieved through massive fraud and deception. One thing that is relentlessly driven home in law school is that it is far easier to deceive people than it is to convince them that they have been deceived.

I once read that in reality, some 97% of the lawyers in the US today are deceptive, dishonest, totally unethical-pathological liars, lazy, and incompetent and as a result of their reckless and wanton behavior, they have given a “bad name” to the rest of the law profession.

At one time, lawyers were highly regarded as the protectors of truth. Even here in America, there was a time, when the law community could be relied upon as having the highest level of integrity of virtually any profession in the country. They were the guardians that prevented the perversion of our constitution and were a firewall against law enforcement misadventure. For many lawyers today, this is still true. But most of them have become nothing more than legal parasites, vampires, and their fangs are planted firmly in the jugular of America.

It's a damn shame that 97% is giving the other 3% such a bad reputation...they should sue.

I'll give y'all this: In my generation of lawyers the only thing we learned in law school about ethics was that capitalism is bad, America's a racist country, affirmative action is necessary to fulfill the promise of justice in the constitution, etc.

Outside of promoting socialism and leftist-thinking, there is no such thing as morality! When it comes to garden-variety business transactions or assigning liability for somebody's injury, the rule is "be greedy."
Sue anybody who has the money. Ask for much more than you deserve. Remember there's no shame in manipulating the truth or having your client lie as long as you can wink and say, with plausible deniability, that you weren't 100% certain it was a flat-out lie.

I once Saw an ad in a law journal where a big firm was looking for a new associate attorney. The ad said this person would be doing insurance defense.

They said, "we're proud of our work; in a recent case a person bought a policy that covered their home for fire. Then their home burned to the ground. The home has been worth half a million.
Our client (Big Insurance Co.) denied the claim and defended it during a lawsuit. We fought hard for our client and it ended when the case settled out of court for $25,000.
If you are OK with results like that and want to be on the winning side, come join us at Dewey, Cheatham & Howe."

Medical Doctors would not have a problem. Lawyers would be shown the door. Even if the handle was warm.
I think you'd be surprised at how little relevant information most doctors would have in an apocalyptic scenario, I only say this because my sister is a surgeon who constantly has stupid ****ing doctors sending her consults for people that don't need surgery, or for people that surgery would not be beneficial for but degrade their quality of life while mkaing the hospital a bunch of money. 95% of ER doctors job is just keeping stupid people, hypochondriacs, and drug seekers from seeing real doctors. Then you have all the internal and family medicine doctors who can identify a disease or injury and refer you to a surgeon, or send you to imaging, or write you a prescription... but in a apocalyptic scenario where are you getting prescriptions filled, or getting an MRI done. Then you have a lot of other specialties that aren't really going to matter either because their expertise is irrelevant to survival, or the other things their expertise depends on to be relevant aren't going to exist in an apocalyptic society. These people are essential to our healthcare system, but I might take a surgical PA or nurse into my bunker over em.

If I've got two spots in my bunker, and there's a million people outside I'm taking a general surgeon, and a compounding pharmacist.

My dad was born 1930. He worked 38 years as a buyer for a Drug wholesaler.
Dad worked 3 jobs until he was promoted. He had a high school degree and was a cheif Air Traffic controller 4 years in the Airforce. He was very smart. The druggist he worked for still compounded in the 50s and early 60s and dad did most of the compounding behind the counter. In the mid 80s most drugs didn't needed compounding. Dad said in the mid 90s there was 3 or 4 druggist that compounded and most were for cancer drugs. 99.99% of druggist were pill counters.
As always having the tools makes the expert.

I think one of the only things compounded these days are allergy shots. Different time.

I think you meant "security will kill their employers" OP

Yea. I have considered this while watching well off preppers. Consider the same with people in power.... will their security teams protect them in a longterm eotwawki scenario or kick them to the curb and wish them the best? Interesting topic
I think it would be different depending on available resources but it could change with any slight variable shift.
