Seller refuses to do PMs

To invoke the extensive ODT consumer protection package, we are supposed to detail a deal with PMs. And I'm totally o.k. with that. Works for me.

But how do you deal with a seller that refuses to do PM, and insists on communicating off site?

Either accept that if the person you're dealing with backs out you won't be able to leave any negative feedback or don't deal with them

If they have been around awhile with good feedback then I have no problem with text or phone calls (if it's something I really want). New guys with low or questionable feedback - I just keep on browsin'.

Don't deal with them. If they can and know how to post an ad ,they can use the pm system.
If deal goes south and you have time , place, location and all the details worked out in pm you can at least leave feedback to let others know their not trustworthy.
Then again it could be something you might want to stay away from if they actually say they don't want to use pm

doing it by pm protects both of you , I will not do a deal unless its in pm , I had to many no shows .

We run a fast as we can if they do not want to communicate by PM, run, walk fast away, and forget it, move along.

Absolutely this. Some folks have busy lives, personally I travel a lot and text is the easiest way to nail down meets sometimes. However, I think every deal should start in pm, just may not stay there.
