Semi Auto Handguns Porn

MAC 9 DS. Only good things to report thus far. 2011 market disruptor. Made by Tisas. I picked mine up at GA Firing Line.

How much was it?
$1K. Includes bull barrel, no MIM parts, very nice RMR/507C optic plate, aluminum magwell.

Negatives: Pistol is over sprung. Once I'm done with break-in, I'm going down to Commander standard weight recoil spring and down a pound or two on the hammer spring. Included iron sights on the optic plate do not co-witness with a RMR/507c. I think this was a mistake when they spec'd the sights. SDS Imports chimed in on a Tisas/MAC DS thread we have going on over at ARFCOM and said they are looking into the issue. The rear sight is detachable from the optics plate so replacing the iron sights is possible. Trigger is definitely DUTY grade out of the box. Very hard wall and 5-6.5 lb. break. A little bit of tweaking on the sear spring and you can get to perform as well as any Staccato I've ever handled. I performed a "while you are in there" $.25 polish job using some Q-tips and Flitz metal polish (focusing on the rails, connector, connector channel, sear, trigger bow and sear spring contact points/edges) and the pistol now feels like it is worth $1-1.5K more that what I paid for it.

Seriously, If you go in knowing that 1911/2011 pistols need a little pampering, you're going to have a 2011 that holds it own against any sub $3K competition.
