EVERYTHING is affected by the price of gas. I firmly believe the recession was exasperated (if not caused) by the 250% increase in gas costs.
It's a double wammy too: Gas costs go up, cost of shipping food and goods go up making them more expensive as well as the consumer has less money to spend on those goods because their gas budget just went up.
No it's not, huge energy cost increases are nothing but good things. We'll stop using so much fossil fuels, the price of consumer goods won't increase, global warming will stop, and liberals will live in a perpetual state of orgasm of their new found utopia.
Or I could be totally off the mark and we'd see massive hyperinflation, a hard market correction, annihilation of the dollar leading to commodities shifting to other currencies, and a time that would make the great depression look good.
