Serious Question...

Why is it expected for the seller to cover shipping these days?

Doesn't the buyer normally pay shipping when you order things unless it's some sort of "free shipping" sale...?

This is not a rant. I'm honestly asking opinions.
For the same reason folks who are 100 miles away want a discount for having to drive to you

If I want it I pay for shipping. Pretty simple imo.

I'm strait up guilty of this, that diesel is still over 4 bucks a gallon. It's difficult to buy something higher end without putting eyes on it. Always my luck what I'm looking at is half a state away.

It's part of the negotiation. If you don't want to do it, don't do it.

Like meeting half way. Doesn't bother me if you say "no" as long as it doesn't bother you if I don't buy what you are selling.

For the time being, we are relatively free to have a free market - the terms depends on how bad each party wants to complete the transaction.
