Seriously, does it make that much of a difference (charging handle)?

Good question. I've had 3 ARs over the years and my last one had an extended release lever that had to be aftermarket. Then someone on here posted an ad looking for one and I traded for his plain factory style. Since I'm clearly NOT a mall ninja operator I don't fell like I need the extended lever or even worse the double extended version. No single point slings, quad rails or vertical foregrip for me. I'm just NOT cool.

So you're saying you're boring, lol?

I'm looking forward to keeping company with you after the 11th. Lol
I'll bet your a riot then!

Make the next trout stream M&G, we'll keep you from falling in the fire, lol.

Has anyone ever broken a charging handle?
Never have and been using stock ones since 1979. if it was good enough for the Army, it has always been good enough for me. All this new fancy Mall Ninja crap is only around to steal money from your pockets. you can talk about design, strength, the curvature of the earth or whatever but, I never broke one. there sure are a bunch of good looking, high priced ones though.

There's not much uglier than an over accesorized AR. ( Well an accesorized SKS IS worse but not by much) And all those over done ARs are really only fit for the magazine covers that they're on month after month after month...

I'm with you, I've never seen a broken or bent one.
If I did break one I'd buy a fancy one though. :becky:

Yes Sir. Keep it clean, simple, and useful in my book. The simpler they are the less likely they are to break. nothing makes me laugh much harder than to see someone with a fancy, over-accessorized AR at the range with a big scope on it and using a spotting scope at a 100 yard range. no need for anything more than regular old iron sights at that distance. I don't know how the Army does it these days but you were expected to hit your target out to 300 meters with Iron Sights when I had to qualify. I think they use Aimpoints and ACOG's now though. I have to admit, they are easier to hit your target with those types of optics. but we were talking about Charging Handles right, lol. Nope, never broke one
