Set a few traps today for Coyote

Relatively easy to catch with cage type traps, good luck. I am trying to catch the ones at my place for now!

I don’t want to buy the cages...I’m hoping someone wants a hat.

My buddy spent 10 minutes looking for a phone booth and sandpaper but no luck...
We turned the Cat loose.

I told my wife that I got him in a head lock , but yes used a choke stick my buddy released the trap. He seemed fine trotted off.

Cats are easy to choke out if you pull to tight or to long, good job.

I had heard that from another trapper. I tried to be gentle and quick. He got a little sleepy but only for 10 seconds after I released . The tricky part was holding him firmly enough but not damaging the neck.

Choking is how I dispatched my big bobcat. My catch pole has a lock on it so once you hit the desired point you can lock it in place. It beats wasting a bullet and damaged pelt.

Pulling the traps tomorrow. No Coyotes, yet.
Had one trap sprung yesterday, bait gone from several, oy vey.
So far a Bobcat, two coons and two possums.

It’s been fun regardless.
