I recently got a Firefield NVRS 3x42 night vision scope to use for coyote, hogs and general nighttime shooting fun. My dad and I went out for coyotes this Friday night and I carried a shotgun since I had not gotten a chance to sight this scope in. While we didn't call up any yotes this time, I did get to sight in my scope when we were done hunting (went to another property).
It's only a gen 1 scope but the image is fantastic! It didn't take long to get it dialed in. Here is a three shot group shot from 100 yards at 11:30 at night.
I have it mounted on a savage 24v (varmint). It's a .222 over 20 gauge combo gun.
I am looking for something else to mount it on because currently most of my guns are either too high recoiling or have a bolt that interferes with the scope, but in the meantime this little model 24 may be my most fun gun I own!
