Not being funny but I thought the 8.6 blackout was supposed to be the 8.6 Creedmoor? Hasn’t this cartridge been in the making for a while? Also is it based on the Creedmoor case or the .221 rem fireball like the original .338 whisper?

Yes, it's been in development for a couple years and it's based on the 6.5CR. Q found that by spinning the bullet faster, it allows the heavier rounds to have better BC, delivers more energy to the target with shorter barrels, less spin drift, a ridiculous terminal ballistics when compared to a 1:7 twist. According to the Q research, the rifling causes more powder to burn which reduces muzzle flash and puts more force behind the bullet. Pretty wild.

Viable for hunting 300-400 yds
