Remington is what you get your 12 year old kid for Christmas, Mossberg is what men buy....

Mossberg 590A1 20" heavy wall barrel and Bayonet...What else could you want?

I am sure they work just fine, but I have never liked the feel of the Mossberg. It feels cheap, and there is a lot of plastic internally as well. The 870 is a much better feeling gun-and you can make one of those look just as cool.

My 870 is an express, love the finish, and the feel. Heck of a gun!

I own 870's and Mossberg 500's. I prefer the safety location on my Mossberg 500. No complaints on either brand/model.

This is great. I was all set on a moss 590 until I read the thread. Now which 870 sub model to get? Primary for home defense and maybe some hunting in future...

In my opinion the best shotgun or at least the best shotgun that I have ever fired or owned is the Mossberg 590A1
