When I started out, that was one of the main reasons I came to this site, because anyone can post. I went to make a post on snipers hide and they said I couldn't until I reached 100 posts. I told'em to shove it. People come cause they can sell, they stay because it's awesome.

This pretty much sums up how I feel about it.

Also a side effect of creating a post requirement is folks spamming their way to the required number.

Weren't all of you "noobs" once?

Not all, There was originally a site called "Georgia Gun trader" if I remember the name correctly. Steve brought a bunch of the GGT members in when the ODT opened up. So the ODT had a bunch of veterans on the first day! I drug around a few days before joining. I'm guessing that anyone with a join date of May 2010 would be a charter member so to speak.

I guess you can call me a noob, I came here because a good friend of mine told me there are some good deals here, and I have made my 1st buy. I'm going to stick around because i now see that he was right.don't start restricting, then you turn a lot of good folks away that are just here to get a good deal or give something back...who cares is my vote.

just ignore them, we still have long time members on here so as long as regulars keep buying and trading and what not, then these stupid noobs who do lowball and have only a few posts wont be an issue

besides, got lots of new business in general coming on, thats always good

I say no. I for one have been here since May of 2010 and was on Georgia Gun Trader before that as but I guess I am a noob because I work and don't have time to comment on everything on this site. This is the kind of change and attitude that would want to make me not be a supporter and leave the site.

We need welcome noobs, not punish them for signing on. Without them, the site wouldn't grow. Some people may only be looking for a certain thing and they move on, and that ok, a lot however stay on and become a contributing member. Making a certain number of post to hit before they have full access just clouds up peoples threads with BS, GLWS, nice gun, etc making their post not mean anything anyways. I get where you are coming from, as the site grows the number of less desired member go up but we also gain great members as well. The percentage is the same in the type of members we get just at a higher volume.

Overall I would say noobs should not be restricted, but I also could say that you should make valid contributions on the site as well.... Maybe require an introduce yourself thread and minimum ten posts at most, they must be valid posts also....
